When speaking with weight loss groups, I am frequently asked, “Do diet pills work?” Truthfully, our bodies have everything they need to be healthy. It’s hard for me to understand why people believe that we must ADD something to ourselves in order to be healthy. It seems to me that it’s just the opposite, and we must TAKE AWAY or eliminate whatever it is that is making us unhealthy. In the case of obesity – it’s the crappy food we eat.
The best diet is NO diet. They all fail miserably in the long run. You have to commit to eating healthy. Once you begin to eat the right kinds of foods, it’s easy breezy… and, believe me, you’ll be eating until you feel like popping – None of this eating like a bird stuff – deprivation has never been one of my favorite things! I am Shaman Rio, the Self-Help Shaman, and I have struggled with weight and health for years and found that the only way I could obtain real and permanent success was by changing the kinds of food I eat. We all eat too many processed foods, full of chemicals and lacking nutrients. Some foods we believe to be healthy, actually are NOT. For example, that whole wheat bread we all think is good for us actually is turned into sugar by our miraculous bodies. Not so good after all.
It’s not hard to make the necessary changes. You’ll still eat many of the foods you love. I now eat like a horse, yet still maintain my desired weight and appearance. So, do diet pills work? Not for the long haul. You may lose weight by using them, but it is doubtful you’ll keep it off. By learning the right foods to eat and making that small adjustment in your lifestyle, you’ll achieve the results you desire. And, it’s so much better than lotions, potions, pills, shots. or fad diets.
In conclusion, forget the pills. Commit to making the necessary changes in the food you eat. Stick to it, and your life, your weight and your overall health (including emotional health) will change dramatically.

We are what we eat. We hear that all the time. But eating healthy is also the first and most important step to losing weight. After all our ancestors were not obese. They did not have access to pills and drugs and processed foods. They just ate whole foods from the earth.
They also exercised more, but like I said before, diet is the very most important thing to get right if you want to lose those pounds once and for all.
4 simple steps to eating healthy
-Eat whole foods. This is basically foods that are not made in a lab, but come from the earth or an animal. Think of apples, blueberries, carrots, nuts, eggs etc. These give your body everything it needs to function properly. -Eat a balanced diet
- Eat a diet made up of protein, vegetables, fruit, healthy fats, and some whole grains. Healthy fats include olive oil, coconut oil, avocados and fish.
-Stay away from the “frankenfoods”. These are foods that have been genetically modified. They are also made in a lab.
-Don’t eat processed foods. These do more harm to your body than good because they are high in sugar and artificial sweeteners. They are much higher in calories than whole foods with hardly any nutritional value. And they make you feel hungrier. Basically they make you gain weight.
Conclusion Eating healthy is in my opinion the best step to losing weight. You will also feel great this way and take care of your body. Eating healthy to lose weight include eating a balanced diet of whole foods, and staying away from “fankenfoods” and the processed foods.
The wonderful world of dieting is filled with rumours, innuendo, false information and a lot of truth but, how do you tell what’s what in order to choose good and healthy diet plans for women?
To help you find your way through the maze here area few established facts to get you on track.
A healthy diet plan that includes lots of lean meat, tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables, good carbohydrates and several glasses of water is the proven way to go.
The other part of eating a healthy diet plan that is rarely discussed is not only eating the right foods but doing it in a certain way that optimizes your body’s natural abilities to burn fat.
If you’re serious about losing weight then you already know this but, here’s a statement of the obvious.
Whenever possible stay the heck away from foods high in salt, sugar, saturated fat and empty calories. Leave the cakes and muffins for someone else. Drop the pastries and pick up an apple. Easy to say I know but once you get in the habit of avoiding high fat processed foods and go fresh you’ll quickly notice how good you’ll feel and that’s a wonderful feeling.
I’m not suggesting you can’t “cheat” once in a while and have a high calorie snack. You can. If you try to quit the junk food cold turkey, chances are you’ll do it for a while then have a relapse. So don’t be afraid to allow yourself a treat, just don’t make it an everyday occurrence.
Avoiding processed foods is really the key. I’m continually surprised at how many people think processed foods are healthy and as good for you as fresh. They’re not! Processed foods are usually stuffed with large amounts of salt, sugar, chemical additives and preservatives and saturated fat.
The really astonishing fact however is that processed foods are most often more expensive than fresh foods. So not only are you poisoning yourself with garbage food, you’re hitting yourself in the bank account as well. Double trouble.
To get the best weight loss and fat burning results, pick a healthy diet plan rich in fresh foods, with plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Combine that with eating the right foods in the right way and you’ll be amazed at how effective it will be in helping you lose weight and get the body you’ve always wanted.
Children have really fast metabolisms, which mean they burn calories and fat really quickly. They also tend to expend a lot more energy and a usually more active than adults. So why is child obesity such a major problem and their diets are under the microscope like never before.
There are a few theories as to why child obesity has become so common in today’s society. Genetics can play a part, children with obese parents have a greater likelihood of suffering from obesity problems later in life.
Another factor may be that the average children’s diet is not as wholesome and healthy as it may have been in the past. Well known fast food establishments specifically target children by offering them free toys with their meals. These toys a normally part of a set (promoting a movie) which is only out for a limited time, meaning the family would have to make multiple visits in order for the child.to complete the collection. The children of today are the first generation to be born into the fast food revolution, and need educating about the importance of a healthy diet.
Another factor may be the amount of physical activity that today’s children enjoy compared with the children of yesterday. I spent the majority of my childhood kicking a ball around or riding my bike. Today’s children are more likely to be found on their laptops enjoying some social networking or on a console playing the latest big release. The rise in childhood obesity is probably down to a combination of these factors and their diet is more important than ever.
You need to be aware of your child’s weight and if it falls between healthy levels, you should also have a good idea of how much you should be feeding them. The attitude of piling their plate up and thinking they are a growing lad can be dangerous as they may be getting too many calories. Your first step if you have any concerns should be to get your child checked out by a pediatrician.
As a parent, you have to lead by example when it comes to healthy eating habits. If you have a poor diet, it is unlikely that your child’s is any better. If your child constantly sees you over-eating and never eating fruit or vegetables, then that will become their idea of normal eating. You will constantly be shaping your child’s mind, even when you are not aware. Don’t just change your child’s diet, make it a family affair and get everyone involved. If your child sees you enjoying a healthy meal or regularly snacking on fruit, then they are far more likely to follow suit.
Don’t keep junk food in the house, giving your child unlimited access to a biscuit tin full of chocolate treats is a recipe for disaster. Try adding vegetables to each meal and offering fruit as a healthy snack.
Get your child involved in preparing healthy meals, this will make meal times more fun and exciting. Serve food from the kitchen and avoid putting large serving bowls on the table, portion control is key to a healthy diet.
Try switching some of your child’s meals and treats for healthier no added sugar options. Everything from breakfast cereal to soda offer a healthier option. You can’t stop your child eating unhealthy meals away from home, but if you educate them from an early age and provide them with a healthy diet, then you can sleep easy.
As well as providing a sensible diet, encourage your child to get regular exercise. Plan fun family activities such as trips to the beach, long walks, bike rides or a kick around with or ball? Get the whole family involved and do things on a regular basis.
Don’t just talk about a healthy lifestyle, lead by example and give your child the very best start in life.
