“Keep Your Abs Tight While Working Out” – Most of you might have heard this a lot of time if you are working on your abs. What does it actually mean? And does it really help in getting your body in shape with well defined abs?
Well keeping your abs tight simply means sucking in your ab muscles to get maximum pressure on them. It’s the same process when you would tighten your abs if somebody is going to punch in your stomach. It’s the same process when you would suck in your stomach if you had to pass sideways between two vehicles.
Doing so certainly helps in getting each muscle worked-out properly. By keeping your abs tight you actually keep your body in a proper form to get maximum advantage of your workout. Not only that, you also provide a good protection to your lower back while working on your abs.
This way your abs might start to hurt more. But that is a good sign. It shows that you are working properly on your ab muscles. Over time, keeping the ab muscles even tighter would feel the right form of working out.
Just note that you do it right way. By keeping your abs tight, you do not hold or alter your breathing pattern. You breath in and breath out normally with each repetition. But at the same time you hold and tight the ab muscles, i.e. shrunken your stomach a bit. Keeping your abs tight while working out doesn’t have to do anything with your breathing pattern.
When speaking with weight loss groups, I am frequently asked, “Do diet pills work?” Truthfully, our bodies have everything they need to be healthy. It’s hard for me to understand why people believe that we must ADD something to ourselves in order to be healthy. It seems to me that it’s just the opposite, and we must TAKE AWAY or eliminate whatever it is that is making us unhealthy. In the case of obesity – it’s the crappy food we eat.
The best diet is NO diet. They all fail miserably in the long run. You have to commit to eating healthy. Once you begin to eat the right kinds of foods, it’s easy breezy… and, believe me, you’ll be eating until you feel like popping – None of this eating like a bird stuff – deprivation has never been one of my favorite things! I am Shaman Rio, the Self-Help Shaman, and I have struggled with weight and health for years and found that the only way I could obtain real and permanent success was by changing the kinds of food I eat. We all eat too many processed foods, full of chemicals and lacking nutrients. Some foods we believe to be healthy, actually are NOT. For example, that whole wheat bread we all think is good for us actually is turned into sugar by our miraculous bodies. Not so good after all.
It’s not hard to make the necessary changes. You’ll still eat many of the foods you love. I now eat like a horse, yet still maintain my desired weight and appearance. So, do diet pills work? Not for the long haul. You may lose weight by using them, but it is doubtful you’ll keep it off. By learning the right foods to eat and making that small adjustment in your lifestyle, you’ll achieve the results you desire. And, it’s so much better than lotions, potions, pills, shots. or fad diets.
In conclusion, forget the pills. Commit to making the necessary changes in the food you eat. Stick to it, and your life, your weight and your overall health (including emotional health) will change dramatically.

If you like you can never lose weight no matter what you do? Have you spent hours at the gym and nothing seems to happen to your body? If so you’re just like I was about a month ago. I was to the point where I was even considering starting myself in order to lose the weight that was causing me so much pain. I just hated always being the fat one, and people looking at me like I was eating way too much all the time. Actually, I really didn’t eat that much. I can understand why I was gaining so much weight. So I found out something that helped me to lose weight.
What I started to do was to follow program. By following a program I was able to control my urges and start eating right. Here are three things that I did to make it a lot easier for me lose weight.
1. I started walking everyday. Instead of parking my car in the front of the parking lot, I would park in the back. You’ve no idea how much extra walking you can make yourself do every day and really short amount of time. Just getting a little bit of exercise every day really helped me to take off the weight.
2. I started carrying a water bottle with me. Everywhere I went I carried a half liter water bottle so that I could drink whenever I wanted to. Just doing this I was able to lose an extra 5 pounds every month.
3. I followed a diet program. By following a diet program I was able to control my urges and get myself on track. It’s probably the most important thing that I did to lose my weight.
People have been asking me lately about the beachbody 2 day fast product and until recently I hadn’t tried it. Now just finishing my 2 day fast I can give an honest review of this product.
Usually I’m pretty skeptical when it comes to any type of rapid weight loss product but after seeing success with Beachbody’s training programs I decided to give it a shot. More so for ridding my body of toxins than the weight loss factor. The 2 day fast arrived at my door along with instructions on how to best use it.
It comes in 2 small containers and advises you to start your fast on the weekend when you are not expending a lot of energy at work. You have 2 flavors to choose from: vanilla and chocolate. I chose the chocolate and it had a decent taste to it. You will take 1 scoop and add 8 ounces of water which you will need to stir vigorously or you could use a blender to get out any lumps.
You will make this shake 3 times a day replacing your meals and also drink an 8 ounce glass of water a couple hours in between each of your shakes. The first day around lunch time I was starving but after having the second shake it seemed to get rid of some of the hunger cravings.
Before going to bed for the evening I was thinking how hungry I would be the next morning but when I awoke I didn’t notice any cravings. I finished my second day with the shake and I could feel my energy starting to dwindle.
With Beachbody’s 2 day fast I did manage to lose 5 pounds which amazed me and I even started to feel less sluggish and bloated when I started eating again. It was more mental I believe as far as being able to go to 2 days without eating but it was a learning experience that I think I will continue every couple of months just to get rid of my body’s toxins.
